Crush coursed in English language: BASIC ENGLISH
The department of English of H.A.College of commerce introduced a Crash Course in English called Basic English for students of H.A. College with a view to enhancing the basic knowledge of English language and its proper usage in day to day affairs. The main objective of the course was to encourage and equip those students who have failed to perform up to the mark in the first test of the college and to provide a platform to them who are very much keen to furnish their communication skills. Within a short period of time, 35 students registered themselves and acquired a basic knowledge which was included in the course content of 25 sessions of 90 minutes each from 10th December, 2008 to 17th January, 2009. The course includes: parts of speech, sentence patterns, vocabulary enrichment, thought power, personality development, spoken English, paragraph writing, soft skills development. Prin. Dr. Purohit congratulated all the students for completing the course satisfactorily and appreciated the English dept. in general and the coordinator of the course prof. jean dsouze in particular for launching motivation and need based crash course in English.
